The GIA Field app

Running the grower survey on the app

Hand the phone to the grower for the eight questions, straight after logging the visit.

Where to find it

GIA Field Visit Logged! Grower Survey

Before you start

The visit has to be logged first — every survey belongs to one visit.

Steps

  1. 1 On the Visit Logged! screen, select Grower Survey. To come back to it later, open the Visits tab, find the visit under Past Visits and select Send Survey.
  2. 2 Hand the phone to the grower and explain it is eight short questions about whether GIA's support has changed anything in their business.
  3. 3 They work through one question at a time, under the heading Grower Survey with "Question 1 of 8" and so on beneath it.
  4. 4 On the first six questions they choose one of five answers, from I significantly agree through Neutral (no change) to I significantly disagree, and may add a Comment (optional).
  5. 5 Question 7 asks which areas of technical support you provided — the sustainable production topics. They select all that apply.
  6. 6 Question 8 is a plain Yes or No on whether GIA may contact them about the improvements they have made.
  7. 7 On question 8, select Submit Survey.

What you'll see

A Thank you! screen confirms it, and Done takes you back into the app. The answers count towards the same figures as a survey run in the officer portal.

  • ← Back returns to the previous question with every answer kept, so an answer can be corrected before it is submitted.
  • The button to move on stays greyed out until the question on screen is answered, so a survey cannot be sent half-finished.
  • With no reception the survey waits in Pending Upload with the visit and goes up when you are back in range.

Important

There is one survey per visit, and it is final once submitted — it cannot be reopened or edited, on the phone or in the portal. Only select Yes on question 8 if the grower has actually agreed to be contacted.

Good to know

Turn the phone around and let the grower answer for themselves — the questions are written to be read by them. If they want to talk about a different visit, open that visit and start its own survey.
