The GIA Field app
Your growers on the app
The businesses assigned to you, carried on the phone so you can look one up with no reception.
Where to find it
GIA Field Growers
The Growers tab is your own grower list, copied onto the phone each time the app connects. It is there to be read in the field — a phone number at the gate, a grower number for the paperwork, or a check on who has not been seen for a while. Nothing on this tab changes a grower record.
Search across the list with the box at the top. It matches the business name, the GN-#### number, the contact's name and the state, so a part-word is usually enough.
- Each card shows the business name, the primary contact and the state, and the GN-#### underneath.
- Accreditations show as small chips on the card, or "No accreditation" where the business holds none.
- An Overdue chip and an amber edge mark a business you have not visited for 90 days or more.
- Selecting a card opens it: Phone, Last Visit as days ago or Never, State, ID, and the address where one is held.
- A Secondary Contact block appears only where a second name, email or phone is on the record.
- Log Visit at the bottom of an open card takes you straight into logging a visit for that business, with it already chosen. Close folds the card again.
What you'll see
You can find any of your growers, ring the right person and see how long it has been since their last visit, standing in a shed with no signal at all.
Good to know
The list is the one the platform holds for you, not a separate one. A grower reassigned to another officer drops off your phone the next time the app connects, and a new one appears the same way.
Important
There is no Add Grower on the phone and no way to correct a detail here — the tab is read-only. A nursery that is not on the list is one you can add yourself, in the officer web portal. Correcting a business already on the list is a different job: a wrong name, phone number or address has to be changed by an administrator, so ask them and the correction reaches your phone the next time the app connects. Add a missing business in the portal first, then log the visit against it.
